Kath Hadden

October 15th - 21st

‘ In preparation for this exhibition I have been exploring Chagford and the surrounding area. This has been a gift and provided me with some wonderful experiences, from bracing winter walks at Meldon, to exploring the Community Gardens and allotments and to summer swims at the local community pool.

It has been a rich source of painting inspiration, especially the Community Pool which was probably one of the most enjoyable painting experiences to date.

Alongside these original paintings, there will also be Art cards, small drawings and prints and my newly released Advent Journal, following on from my A Painting a Day book released in 2024’.

Ali Siddall

October 29th - November 4th

‘Ali Siddall is an artist living and working in Cornwall, she uses acrylic paint intuitively, letting the movement and feel of the paint on the canvas inform the sense of place.  Her work draws deeply from the ephemeral palettes of Cornwall, the Isles of Scilly and the moorlands of Dartmoor and West Penwith; the turquoise, coppers, blues and greens relate to the sea and land. Flashes of tin, copper and gold connecting to those who worked there through fishing, mining and farming.  She forages locally for clay pigments and crushed mussel shells to ensure a part of these places are always phisically present in her work.’
