Simon Bor

‘ Simon Bor is a printmaker, writer and former TV animation producer. He has MAs in Writing for young People from Bath Spa, and Professional Writing from Falmouth. He discovered printmaking on the Cambridge School of Art and Animation at Farham.

Simon, along with his partner Sara, formed Honeycomb Animation in 1982, producing and developing over twenty TV series, including the award winning Tube Mice, Wolves, Witches and Giants and the multi-BAFTA-nominated Grizzly Tales for Gruesome Kids. He has scripted animations for ITV, Channel 4 and Milkshake, and was also a story artist for CBBC’s Ooglies.

Simon returned to print making a decade ago and works on an antique Britannia press at his Devon farmhouse. He has created a series of prints on Lost Cambridge, and the coastline of western Britain and Ireland. His series Venues is an autobiographical look at the buildings where the many bands began their career.

When not printing, Simon is writing young adult fantasy. He is a regular contributor to the children’s Media Conference blog and presented a paper on the crisis in boys reading at the 2025 Leaf conference.’
